The Apache Software Foundation ASF mentoring project is due to commence in 4 weeks.

This is the first time the ASF has run the progamme and so it is very fluid right now.

The ASF cannot guarantee its success - but we'll do our best!!!

There are two key activities:

- a brief intro to what the mentoring programme is

- a list of projects that are available on the mentoring programme

Documentation

ASF documentation can be found on the ASF community development site [1].

There are two key documents:

- description of how the mentoring programme in general works [2]

- description of how the programme works in formal education settings [3].

Note that the programme has never been run in formal education settings so we are looking to OpenSE to help us expand and refine this.
