The openSE project – open educational framework for computer science Software Engineering – brings together higher education institutions, open source projects and enterprises from different countries, across Europe and beyond, to collaboratively develop a common learning ecosystem that will combine formal and informal learning within an informal learning environment.

This project is being developed by a consortium, coordinated by:

More information regarding the project consortium can be found in the openSE Partners Organisations section of this website (click here).

To achieve the main objective of the openSE project - to deliver an open approach to computer science Software Engineering – and in the long term - to establish a cost-efficient, geographically unlimited, free and open educational framework – the project consortium adopted, in this website, the principles set forth by open standards and free licences. In other words, Users contributing to the openSE website (www.opense.net) are required to grant broad permissions to the general public to freely re-distribute and re-use their contributions, as long as their use and work adheres to the same freedoms and principles. Therefore, it is required that the publication of materials comply with the licences generally accepted by the Free Cultural Works Definition or Free / Libre Knowledge Definition (more information concerning these types of licences can be found on http://freedomdefined.org/Licenses and http://www.libre.org/communities/license). Contributors should use one of the following licenses for publication of materials in this website:

    1. Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike (CC BY-SA);
    2. Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY);
    3. GNU Free Documentation License (GNU FDL);

Or any other free license as accepted by the Free Cultural Works Definition or Free/Libre Knowledge Definition.

Unless otherwise stated, all content on the openSE website is published under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike (CC BY-SA) License. In order to avoid license compatibility issues, contributors are encouraged to use a CC BY-SA License as well.

Although information on the website can also point to external sources that may not comply with these policies, these should at least be freely accessible through the Internet. This way, useful materials that don’t comply with the policies defined in this document can still be accessed and viewed.

The openSE project consortium assumes no liability for any contribution made by the User or a third party. Users are responsible for any information or materials they place on this website. The openSE project consortium is under no obligation to monitor or control any material that is or becomes available on the website although it reserves the right to review any material that is or becomes available, as well as having the option to remove material that is, in their judgment, unacceptable, undesirable or in violation of this policy. Users agree to indemnify and hold openSE project consortium harmless from any demands, loss, liability, claims or expenses (including attorneys’ fees), made against openSE project consortium by any third party due to or arising out of or in connection with their use of the website.

“Privacy” covers personally identifiable information collected or stored by the project consortium on its servers in relation to the openSE website (www.openSE.net). The project consortium will always attempt to collect and store the minimum amount of personally identifiable information needed to fulfil the Projects' operational needs.

The information provided by Users on the website will never be published or distributed to third parties unless the consortium is legally required to do so.
