openSE is an “open educational framework for computer science Software Engineering”. This space brings together higher education institutions, open source projects and enterprises from different countries, from Europe, Africa and beyond!

At openSE you can:

  1. Browse through course materials and engage with students and free learners outside of formal education who learn “for fun”
  2. Browse through the work of other students & free learners and see how they have learnt or what they have achieved. Just take a look at the Learning Project Dirctory.
  3. Find concrete opportunities on contributing to open source projects in a “learning by coding” manner
  4. Get in touch with experienced programmer that will mentor you in your learning process, such as the programmers participating at the Apache Software Foundation's ASF Mentoring Project.

openSE aims at the continuous provision of up to date and relevant learning materials and opportunities that match learners' interests and employers' demand; providing firms with better educated employees and allow learners to acquire an enhanced set of skills than traditional educational provision does.

openSE is open to any type of learner: students of partnering universities, learners from the enterprise field, or 'free learners' outside of any type of formal educational context.

We cordially invite all of you to contribute to the development of openSE, be it in terms of structuring and shaping the openSE environment, to provide learning resources, mentorship and support opportunities, etc.

If you like to see how we started, or look for old forum posts – please visit our old site at www.netgeners.net.
